WATER TREATMENT & QUALITY TESTING

SAFETY RITE, INC is an Environmental and Occupational Health Engineering Consulting Services group with two divisional concentrations: Environmental Health and Occupational Health.

Our Professional Services concentration in this division includes Water Quality Diagnostic and Treatment and Safety, Environmental Engineering & Development.  We have a cadre of professional practitioners led by an esteemed Environmental Geochemist, Geomicrobiologist, and Planetary Scientist, Dr. Ruth Blake, Ph.D.

We are supported by a team from environmental consultants and engineering to remediation contractors who have served government agencies, medical facilities, school districts, non-profit agencies, and commercial and residential clients.

With a thorough understanding of optimal Environmental Health requirements such as water, people, and the physical environment, they conduct fact-finding and corrective exercises from the analysis of Lead, Asbestos, PCBs, Mold, and Multi-Metals to numerous other subjects.

We are committed to providing quality services with the expertise of a knowledgeable staff, good practices, and strict adherence to our in-house quality assurance program that meets all regulatory requirements.

Our operations perform analysis according to USEPA and Standard Methods to meet Federal and State compliance and perform informational tests for quality control.  Our Chief Technical Officer is a distinguished multi-award recipient with several fellowships; Environmental Geochemist, Geomicrobiologist, and Planetary Scientist hold national and multiple state certifications to provide regulatory testing to meet customers’ needs.

Dr. Blake has over twenty years of experience in the laboratory, field/ocean research, teaching, and publishing. She has delivered more than eighty invited lectures across four continents and leads large and diverse research groups and laboratory facilities.

Her skills and expertise include:

  • Aqueous geochemistry, experimental & analytical chemistry, microbiology (P, S, As, Se, Fe, Zn)
  • Chemical analysis and interpretation of natural and experimental systems (water, minerals, soils/sediment, carbon nanotubes) and water-rock-microbial interactions using various analytical instruments, including ICP-MS, isotope mass spectrometry, light microscopy, SEM, XRD, and XRF.
  • Development of novel stable oxygen isotope methods– now used worldwide– for tracing sources and transformations of inorganic phosphate (e.g., fertilizers, waste-water treatment effluent), organic phosphorus pollutants, herbicides (e.g., RoundUp), and pharmaceuticals (e.g., phosphonate antibiotics) and other oxyanions (arsenic, selenium, sulfate); discovered DNA Thermometry and phosphoforensics
  • Several team members successfully participate in the USEPA Proficiency Testing Program and laboratory management systems. They also contribute to industry associations and are industry experts frequently sought after for educational seminars on water quality and testing topics.
